Tom Courtney

The primary responsibilities of the Club Director are to:

  • Establish and communicate the vision for the NNMVA.
  • Evaluate current and possible future coaches for the NNMVA.
  • Lead player evaluations and team placements at competitive team try-outs.

Phyllis Foley

The primary responsibilities of the Treasurer are to:

  • Have charge and custody and be responsible for all funds, securities and deeds of the NNMVA.
  • Oversee the Fees Collection Committee.
  • Oversee the Fundraising Committee.
  • Prepare an itemized financial statement for each annual meeting.
  • Propose membership fees.
  • Prepare and submit the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission non-profit corporation paperwork annually on behalf of the NNMVA.
  • Prepare and submit a non-profit corporation federal tax return annually on behalf of the NNMVA.

Tom Courtney

The primary responsibilities of the Team Parents Coordinator are to:

  • Recruit a Team Parent for every team within the NNMVA.
  • Make clear the responsibilities of a Team Parent, and ensure these responsibilities are being met.
  • Recruit Chaperones to be USAV registered with each team within the NNMVA that attends tournaments requiring an overnight stay.
  • Make clear the responsibilities of USAV Chaperones, and ensure these responsibilities are being met.
  • Coordinate transportation and lodging for teams (players, coaches, and chaperones) within the NNMVA that attend events requiring an overnight stay.
  • Serve as the members point-of-contact on the Board for issues arising within teams.

Kathy Wright

The primary responsibilities of the Secretary are to:

  • Keep the minutes of the meetings of the members and of the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate the preparation of a binder for each team containing rosters, schedules, and pertinent information such as medical release forms and other USAV documents.
  • Prepare and distribute promotional flyers to schools in Northern New Mexico before try-outs.
  • Communicate with the news media to advertise try-outs and promote the NNMVA through publication of tournament results.
  • Be responsible for the publication of monthly NNMVA newsletters.

Pat Nakagawa

The primary responsibilities of the Registrar are to:

  • Prepare liability waiver forms for members to submit prior to participation in try-outs.
  • Collect member data necessary for USAV registration.
  • Submit player and team registration materials to USAV, and coordinate with the Treasurer to ensure payment of the team and player fees.
  • Maintain a membership book, and electronic mail lists for the Board and all teams within the NNMVA.
  • Secure insurance certificates from USAV for all facilities used by the NNMVA.
  • Register teams for tournaments.

Paula Gibbons

The primary responsibilities of the Equipment and Facilities Coordinator are to:

  • Ensure the necessary equipment is available.
  • Distribute equipment to coaches as needed. Collect equipment from coaches when no longer needed.
  • Prepare for the Board a twice yearly inventory of the equipment owned by the NNMVA.
  • Ensure that gyms and equipment are secured and prepared for try-outs and assessments.
  • Provide for practice and playing gyms for all teams within the NNMVA through liaison with School Districts, Municipal and/or County Recreation Departments, and other agencies.
  • Provide a schedule of practice times for all teams.
  • Ensure preparation and coordination so the gyms are safe and enjoyable at all practices.
  • Order uniforms for all teams within the NNMVA, and coordinate with the Treasurer for purchase.

Andrea Cunningham

The primary responsibilities of the Member-At-Large are to:

  • Manage action items assigned to officers by the Board.
  • Maintain a document containing the rules and regulations of the NNMVA not specifically addressed in these Bylaws or the Bylaws of SURVA or USAV.
